The word Chrysanthemum is derived from Greek words Chrysos (gold) and anthemos (flower) which means Golden flower, the name is inspired from the traditional original flower which is yellow, after years of artful cultivation the flower comes in a myriad of colors. The Chrysanthemum flowers are believed to represent happiness, love, longevity, and joy. Next time you see the Chrysanthemum flowers or your florist recommends it to you, don', t pause to think, just go for it. The Chrysanthemum flower has a good shelf life, could last upto 10 days if looked after well.

Take a moment to look at this creation of God, comes in a myriad of colors, the Chrysanthemum flower. Seldom is there a flower that comes in such a variety of hues. Yellows, pinks, reds, white, single color, double color, three colors, every color that can fill your imagination. When you look at the Chrysanthemum flower it fills your heart with a sense of delight, some joy and brings a smile to your face, so intriguing is this flower and you are thinking who do i gift these beautiful flowers to.

It reminds me of a few words from William Wordsworth's solitary Reaper,

Ashish!      How do we keep cut flowers fresh and make them last for more number of days?

1. Change the water in the vase every day and wash the vase every day.

2. The stem of the flowers must be cut a bit every day. The end of the stem will become dead in 24 hours, by cutting it we are going to the greener part which will absorb water.
3. Keep flowers in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
4. Do not keep fresh flowers under a fan or direct ac air.

Cutting a flower stem, use a flower cutter to get it right Cut the stem to an extent where you can see it nice and green. This is a picture after cutting an orchid stem. One should cut the stem where it is firm, if the ends are soft then the flower is old.
